CANINE COACHING
Education • Guidance • Management • Accountability
OPTION 1 — CANINE COACHING WITH YOUR DOG
$330/month
Designed for pet parents, families, fosters, and rescue representatives who benefit from having the dog present while working directly with a professional trainer.
During coaching sessions, your trainer can observe the dog and handler together, identify areas where communication or management may be breaking down, and coach you through changes in real time.
This program may include:
-
Observation of the dog in their normal environment
-
Handler coaching and education
-
Household routine and structure development
-
Understanding canine body language
-
Identifying triggers, thresholds, and patterns
-
Leash handling guidance
-
Crate, place, and household management strategies
-
Enrichment recommendations
-
Appropriate boundaries and expectations
-
Troubleshooting current challenges
-
Family education and consistency
-
Foster and rescue transition support
-
Progress reviews and adjustments to your training plan
Important: The trainer is not being hired to physically train the dog for you. The purpose of these sessions is to teach you how to appropriately work with, manage, communicate with, and advocate for the dog in your care.
OPTION 2 — CANINE COACHING WITHOUT YOUR DOG
$300/month
Sometimes the most productive training session happens without the dog in the room.
This option provides dedicated one-on-one coaching where pet parents, families, fosters, or rescue representatives can sit down with a trainer and discuss their dog's behavior, challenges, routines, progress, and goals without actively handling the dog.
This is especially helpful when the dog's presence makes it difficult for the humans to focus, when multiple family members need education, or when a rescue/foster team needs professional guidance regarding a particular case.
Coaching may include:
-
Reviewing current behavioral concerns
-
Understanding why certain behaviors may be occurring
-
Reviewing videos provided by the family or rescue
-
Creating household management plans
-
Developing predictable daily routines
-
Preparing for visitors, outings, veterinary appointments, or transitions
-
Crate and confinement planning
-
Enrichment and fulfillment recommendations
-
Discussing reactivity, fear, frustration, guarding, or overarousal
-
Foster and adoption transition planning
-
Helping families establish realistic expectations
-
Reviewing progress and determining appropriate next steps
-
Teaching family members how to respond consistently
-
Rescue case consultation and foster support
Your trainer will help turn the information you provide into clear, realistic steps that can be implemented at home.
VIRTUAL CANINE COACHING
Add-On: $35 per 15 Minutes
Need help between your regular coaching sessions?
Current Canine Coaching clients may add short virtual coaching sessions for $35 per 15-minute session.
Virtual coaching is ideal for:
-
Quick troubleshooting
-
Reviewing a new behavior or concern
-
Video review
-
Questions about homework
-
Preparing for an upcoming situation
-
Adjusting management strategies
-
Foster or rescue case updates
-
Getting professional direction before a small problem becomes a larger one
Virtual coaching is educational and consultative and does not replace veterinary care, emergency behavioral intervention, or an appropriate in-person behavioral assessment when one is needed.
WHO IS CANINE COACHING FOR?
Canine Coaching can be beneficial for:
Pet Parents & Families
Learn how to better understand your dog, establish consistency in your home, improve communication, and confidently implement your dog's training plan.
Foster Families
Receive professional guidance while helping a foster dog decompress, transition into a home, develop appropriate routines, and prepare for adoption.
Rescue Organizations
Give foster families and rescue representatives access to professional behavioral guidance without requiring a traditional training program for every case.
Previous Training Clients
Maintain progress after completing formal training and have continued access to professional guidance as new situations arise.
COACHING VS. TRADITIONAL TRAINING
Traditional dog training:
The trainer works directly with the dog to teach, condition, practice, or modify specific skills and behaviors.
Canine Coaching:
The trainer works primarily with the people responsible for the dog.
We teach you what to look for, what to change, what to practice, how to manage the environment, and how to create consistency.
Because ultimately, your trainer isn't living in your home every day.
You are.
Our goal is to give you the education, tools, structure, and confidence to make better decisions for the dog in front of you.
